Rusty Design Skills
I have to say that I’m kind of saddened by my inability to design a logo for Biojournalism.com. Perhaps my creative vision for graphic design is just rusty due to a few years of relative inactivity. Or perhaps it’s because my notions of good design has changed (improved?) and my skills haven’t kept up? Or perhaps I just haven’t found the right combination of caffeine and sleep deprivation.
In any case, I’m looking to submit the podcast to iTunes over the weekend, but I want a good branding for biojournalism.com before I do so. iTunes uses a 300px x 300px logo, this site uses a significantly longer and shorter version. I’m just looking for a small logo to represent biojournalism.com. I would prefer the text can stand-alone, so that it can be selectable text for the header (SEO and HTML semantics).
If you’ve got a good idea or the site, or want to show off your not-as-rusty design skills, I’d love to use what you come up with. In fact, we’ll even give you a permanent link-back (as long as we’re using the logo) in the footer of the site. Post a comment with a link to your image or a description of what you’re thinking — or send an email with details.
Kallen is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Journalism at the University of Oregon and, of course, writing a blog.

Woot! I’ve done some logos before and when I read this a few Ideas popped into my head. I’ll doodle a few down and see what you think Wednesday. If it works, cool, if not, well I hope you find one that looks good.

Have you considered an alternative? http://xkcd.com/323/

@ Samper:
I knew it! Although, that may go into the idea of changing my idea of what “good design” means. Inhibition regulation and all that.
@Del Rosal:
We already talked, but I wanted to mention publicly that I appreciate your feedback and help.
