Kallen is an undergraduate student at the University of Oregon. She is currently studying biology and journalism with the hope of blending the two into a career of biojournalism — or science journalism. Good science writing, she figures, comes from a mastery of English, and the ability to relate. Thus, she has immersed herself in various forms of life sciences. She is currently taking media writing classes, chemistry, and economics, and is a member of the UO cycling team and the Oregon Marching Band.
